A Glorious Day in the Garden

Today is a glorious day!  The morning is cool yet a bit muggy but not in an uncomfortable sort of way.  Rather it is muggy in a take a deep breath and feel better sort of way.  Glorious because this is the day that the Lord has made.

To quote Anne with an "e", it is a day without any mistakes in it yet.  No doubt mistakes will come because that is surely to happen in this life but one can celebrate the glory of the day regardless.

The garden is rich in life and beauty.  One can not help but feel gratitude in a cottage garden.  The birds agree with me in song.  The resident woodpecker with his knock knock knock keeps in time with their melody.  I close my eyes and listen.

  1. Your garden looks so lovely and looks like your plants are loving that muggy morning :) I love sitting in the mornings hearing the birds chirping outside and reading my bible and praying, there is no better way to start the day! Hope you have a good week ahead!

  2. Beautiful garden! I just learned that listening to birds for 6 minutes resets your nervous system.
    And....
Their song in early morning and evening is a signal for plants to open, close, grow etc....
God is such an amazing artist!

But oh! the blessing it is to have a friend to whom one can speak fearlessly on any subject; with whom one's deepest as well as one's most foolish thoughts come out simply and safely. Oh, the comfort — the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person — having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all right out, just as they are, chaff and grain together; certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then with the breath of kindness blow the rest away. ~Dinah Maria Craik, A Life for a Life, "Chapter XVI: Her Story," 1859
